In my previous post I started to tell you about network marketing and how you can work from home on your 'rat race escape plan' even whilst holding down your regular full-time job. Let's have a look at this in more detail...
Did you manage to answer the questions from the previous post?
Let me remind you what they were:
- When do you want to retire?
- When do you think, given your current situation, you will be able to retire?
- What is your plan to close the gap between questions one and two?
Now I don't know about you but I certainly don't want to retire at 70, or even 65 or even in my 50s. I want to be able to retire much sooner than that - preferably in my 40s.
Currently, I'm laying some good foundations which will allow me to retire well before the traditional retirement age and a lot wealthier than I could have expected to be had I stayed in full-time employment.
My network marketing business (helping people save money on utilities and make money by joining my team) is my plan to get me some or all of the way to allowing me to do that.
So what's the difference between the income from network marketing and that of a normal job?
The way network marketing is structured is by having you earn income in two ways - firstly by directly selling a product to a customer (let's call that tier 1 income) and secondly by recruiting team members who have a separate customer base and when they sell the product to their customers you also make commissions on that (let's call it tier 2).
But because everyone has a chance to do well in a true network marketing business (and I'll tell you why it isn't pyramid selling in a minute) then the people in your team are encouraged to develop and nurture their own teams. So the tier 2 commissions can stretch to tiers 3, 4, 5 etc. In some businesses the levels of commission that you can go to are capped - in mine the levels go to infinity.
So in time (this is not get rich quick remember), if you do the required activity consistently and build a good team (who build a good team, who build a good team), eventually you can stop and the cheques will keep coming as new team members are constantly joining and going through their own 5 year processes.
So why isn't this pyramid selling?
Well, with pyramid selling, the money is mostly made by the sign up fee that the person pays to get into the business. When all's said and done, there's no tangible product of any real value and the person buying in can only make money by 'selling' further positions.
A true network marketing company, by contrast, will have a solid product that benefits people so nobody loses out at all and this is what you should look for. A good network marketing company will make sure that the product is one that is in demand and is probably some kind of unique offering.
The company that I chose to be a distributor for is a utilities provider, who, uniquely, provide gas, electricity, home telephone, broadband and mobile all on one, monthly bill and they're pretty cheap with it! They have a product that is in demand and the customer, once a customer, will continue to buy month after month. A fantastic offer with fantastic team growing potential - they currently have just 1% of the utilities market in the UK so this is just the tip of the iceberg.
If this isn't your bag there's a host of other opportunities out there in the network marketing field. You can promote aloe vera, special healthy chocolate, health products, cosmetics; the list is endless.
And you will notice I've used the word promote here. Because some will argue that network marketing is a straight sales job. Well, yes and no. Yes because your customers will buy a product but no because it should be a product that you can genuinely promote because you like it and use it and you can see the benefits.
This is a fantastic way to earn extra income, have a part time job that fits in around children or even become what they refer to as a company 'superstar' and eventually do this full-time on a major scale. For many, network marketing isn't just about money either - it's a brilliant tool to help with self development and for some it even enhances their social lives, it's a great way to meet people.

See you on the other side!

MLM or network marketing I think is a really good, fast and legal way to earn a living - both offline and online. Too bad there are scams out there that smudge the good face of the industry. On the other hand, there are also those that are legit, some of which I'm a part of.
