I haven't felt too inspired to blog lately and I wonder if it's because I started writing before I'd escaped the rat race and now that I no longer work 9 to 5, it's almost like there's less of a reason for me to write about my journey.
However, I've given myself a slap around the chops and realised that just because I've achieved my initial goal, which was to escape the rat race (and really feel like I don't have to go back) it doesn't mean I should stop achieving even bigger goals and inspiring others to do the same.
This week I've been inspired by two things that have had an almost immediate impact on my attitude.
Firstly (only because it happened first) was a talk I attended on Monday night by Dr John Demartini, who talks about the Law of Attraction and how we can use it in our lives to attract the things we want.
His ideas were nothing I haven't heard before but just attending the event reawakened my thought process around all of this and I really do feel I've been 'attracting' ever since.
I'm finding that due to the credit crunch that people are asking me "How's business?" with a sympathetic head tilt as in, what they really mean is, "How bad has it got for you?". It's one of the trickiest things to keep positive when all around expect stories of doom and gloom. Business is actually going well, all things considered but it's sometimes hard to keep a strong mental attitude when people seem surprised by that.
So I'm happy to say that since I listened to John Demartini for a couple of hours, in the presence of around 150 other inspired people, The Cleaning Biz in particular has had an even better week than usual - it's totally buzzing, which is great news for me and the cleaners.
The second inspiring event is, obviously, the election of Barack Obama in the US. Most people I speak to about this agree that it's great to see that change is coming but some are still reserved about whether or not Obama can put his money where his mouth is.
The way I see it, he may not change the face of the world in just a couple of terms and he may well be a little inexperienced to take on the job of most powerful man in the universe. What he has done is massively inspired people to see the possibilities in their own lives. Obama's journey has not ended now that he's achieved his goal by getting into the White House, it's only just begun really and this is what we've all got to remember.
So, I'm taking my lead from Obama and John Demartini and I'm going to carry on being inspired and trying to inspire others to get themselves to where they really want to be.

Hi Andy
Wow, you really have escaped it all - how brave! Really love what you're doing - suddenly my desk seems a little dull today!
